Shahbaz Sharif’s interim bail till June 17. Chief Justice Lahore High Court lifts police siege, PML-N President and Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif’s assets in excess of income and money laundering case. The High Court granted interim bail and stopped NAB from arresting him till June 17. On the other hand, the NAB called him again on June 9. The court asked the NAB why it had summoned Shahbaz Sharif on June 2 when the warrants were first issued. While the court ordered to submit a bond of Rs 500,000 for bail. The interim bail application was heard by Justice Tariq Abbasi and Justice Farooq Haider.
A two-member bench comprising of Azam Nazir Tarar and Amjad Pervez Advocate appeared on behalf of Shahbaz Sharif. Special Prosecutor NAB Syed Faisal Raza Bukhari was also present in the court. After hearing the arguments of the PML-N president’s lawyer and the NAB prosecutor, the apex court granted bail to Shahbaz Sharif in exchange for bail bonds of Rs 500,000. Earlier, the opposition leader’s lawyers and High Court Bar officials called on the Chief Justice.

He apprised them of the situation and appealed to them that going to court for interim bail is the basic right of every citizen including Shahbaz Sharif but NAB and police officials want to deprive Shahbaz Sharif of this basic constitutional right on which the Chief Justice has registered the Registrar. During the hearing of the petition, the court asked the lawyer Shahbaz Sharif where the petitioners were. On which the court was told that there are rooms in the court and there are cancer patients. The court inquired whether you are in danger of arrest.
On this, the lawyer told the court that even though the NAB had given him the required record, the NAB was still impatient for his arrest. The judge asked at what stage was the case against Shahbaz Sharif? On this, lawyer Amjad Pervez said that the case against Shahbaz Sharif is at the stage of investigation. The court asked where the NAB members are and come to the rostrum, after which they asked whether the NAB opposes Shahbaz Sharif’s bail application. On this, NAB lawyer Faisal Bukhari said that G-NAB will oppose the bail of Shahbaz Sharif. NAB lawyer informed the court that Shahbaz Sharif was summoned on October 5, 2018 in the clean water case.
